Okay, I bought 2 of these this past summer. One for myself and the other for my brother in law. I've been riding short boards for several years now, and SUP was totally new to me.
I will say this, it's a blast to be able to travel that fast on the water. You'll be amazed at how much water you can cover in a short amount of time. We were able to cover at least a mile in 20-25 minutes. If you're coming from a short board, these things are TOUGH to get used to. Man, they are tanks! And this one is FOAM! I'm content with just paddling this thing along the coast, and I'll grab my short board to catch some waves.
Now, the board itself. It's foam, and I'm okay with that. I wanted something that I could be a little `careless' with. And it's perfect for that. You're gunna have a tough time really damaging this thing. Now, with that durability and care-free maintenance, I'm sure performance is being lost. Enough for me to notice? No, probably not. If you've been riding SUPs for years, I'm sure you'll notice. But for someone who is just getting into the sport, you will be pleased.
PROS
Light weight (Compared to other fiberglass or epoxy SUPs, this thing is LIGHT! Gotta love foam.)
Durable (Again, it's foam)
Perfect for just paddling along the coast
Beginners board (I had never been on a SUP before. Took me about 15-20 minutes to get the hang of it.)
It's foam (your knees and chest will thank you)
CONS
Not performance oriented
The handle in the middle of the board wasn't securely glued on mine. (Had to use epoxy to re-glue it.)
The foam deck can be a bit slick (I added wax to mine, problem solved.)
CONCLUSION
A good all-around board that you'll have FUN with. Use it as a cruiser, and you're sure to be pleased.
TIP: Last thing, from what I've been told, a decent paddle is a MUST. Most of the paddles that these boards come with are junk. They're essentially kayak paddles. Mine didn't come with a paddle. I bought a used Jimmy Styxs paddle for 50 bucks. Do yourself a favor and do the same.

I love this board. It is very stable, great for beginners and is very quick on the water for more experienced paddle boarders.
